Patriot essays The American Revolutionary war was the time were the colonist rebelled against the British Attacks. The British were in control of all of the colonies. The Red Coats which is the British were also in control of all import, and export goods. They taxed every type of good that came in or out of the colonies. The colonist developed a group of man later called the militia. The militia is a group of farmers trained as soldiers to fight against the British. Another valuable asset to the colonists were the African America slaves, allowed by their master to fight along side the colonist. The American Revolution was a turning point in creating the United States of America today. The British army who was also known as the red coats simply because of the type of uniform they wore. The red coats caused the colonist a lot of grief. Red coats were evolved in a lot of important events including the Boston Massacre, one of the most important events in history. It was the killing of colonist in the middle of the town. This event caused colonist to rebel even more, later the colonist were also involve in another event later called the Boston Tea Party. It was were the colonist dump tea into the Boston Bay. The British upset with this event enforced tougher and stricter rules where their punishments were more severe, some were even tried with treason. The colonists highly annoyed with the way the red coats were running the colonies. The colonist set out to assemble a group of men, in which they found in bars, churches, farms, and in fields they even recruited slaves given to the selective services by their masters. This group of men were called a militia, which was a number of farmers, priest, and men from bars trained to fight as soldiers. The militia was trained by soldiers under the command of George Washington, he was the general in command in the fight for freedom and independence. The colonist were large but still didnt ...
